Here are some of the topics we cover in our beginners chess course:

Basic chess rules: We start with the very basics, covering the rules of the game, the different pieces on the board, and how they move.
Checkmate patterns: We teach our students the different checkmate patterns, such as the back-rank mate, the smothered mate, and the queen and king mate.
Tactical themes: We cover fundamental tactical themes such as pins, forks, skewers, and discovered attacks.
Opening principles: We introduce the basic principles of chess openings, including controlling the center of the board, developing your pieces, and castle early.
Basic endgame techniques: We teach our students the fundamental endgame techniques, such as how to checkmate with a queen and king or with a rook and king.
